Calling people Madkhalis and Jamis || Al-Allâmah Ubayd al-Jâbirî -->> Questioner: And this is the eight question, may Allah preserve you, asking: There are some people in our country who revile Shaykh Rabee and call the Salafees, Madkhalees and Jaamees. How do we respond to that? Al-Allâmah Ubayd al-Jâbirî Replyed :: Firstly, it is not strange that the people of innovation revile the callers to the sunnah and its scholars, this is from old, from the time bidah started, the mocking of the callers of Ahlu sunnah was present then, so do not be amazed, so if you hear the one who reviles a scholar from the scholars of Ahlu sunnah, whether its Shaykh Rabee or other than him - the scholars who are known for the sunnah and calling to it. This is a sign that he is an innovator. So turn a page away from him and lift your hands from him and separate yourselves from him, there is no problem in advising him as he may have been deceived about it. If he takes the advice and leaves that off, and shows love for the scholars of the sunnah - then he is from us and we are from him. And that is giving nicknames to some noble scholars, to whom are being listen to. By saying “those are Jaamiyyoon” or “those are Madaakhilla”. And they intend by this our Shaykh, the scholar Muhammad Amaan al - Jaami (rahimahullah). And our noble Shaykh Rabee ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee. Shaykh Saalih al - Fawzaan Answers: This falls under the answer which I just answered. Leave off these matters and giving nicknames. And do not call each other by nicknames. Allaah said to you: And do not call each other by nicknames. (Surah Hujuraat 49:Verse 11) You are all brothers, and have the same religion and are colleagues. And all praise is due to Allaah. So ban these matters. And respect the scholars, respect the scholars. Those who do not respect the scholars will be deprived from their knowledge. He will not get any benefit from them. so leave these matters, giving each other nicknames and speaking about the scholars. Those that have nobility, and have status among the people that Allaah gave them. Allaah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. (Surah Al-Mujadila 58:Verse 11) So the scholars have their place, value and respect. And if the people do not trust the scholars, who will they trust? If the reliability of the scholar is taken away, to whom should the people return back to? This is an intrigue without a doubt. This is a evil scheme among the people without a doubt.
