Calorie deprivation can actually hurt your weight loss goals! If you cut calories too drastically you wont have enough energy during your workout to really push the extra mile. which leads to: less calories burned. If you have to cut your workout short due to exhaustion or fatigue you cut fat burning drastically. which leads to: the need for more calorie deprivation to lose lbs. Evil cycle! Eat your carbs in the hours before or just after your workout, not later when youre going to be static for hours or going to bed.
