Calvary greetings in the name of the Lord ARE YOU TILLING YOUR LAND? MEMORY VERSE: he that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. Proverbs 28:19 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 17-20 Every human created by God has a land. The land I am talking about is not a physical one. The land referred to are skills, gifts , ministry, areas of specialization etc. Everyone God created, He gave a talent. It is possible that you are yet to discover yours but every human on the face of the earth has a gift. God gave you and I that gift to use for His glory. Proverbs 28:29 says he that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. The vast majority of people today are tilling other people’s land. Because doctors are on a good salary, many study medicine. A lot of people study law because someone in their family is a lawyer. There are countless number of teachers working as an accountant. Also there are countless number of doctors working as a chemical engineer. This is why a lot of people struggle in their career or profession or ministry. God created them to be a cook but for one reason or the other they end up as a teacher. According to our memory verse if till your land, you will have more than enough. The current president of USA used to be a professor in the law school. The man tilled his land and prospered. If he had chosen to become a doctor, probably no one would have heard of his name. The story is told of a lady who loved drawing. Due to marriage and family , she could not take up drawing full time. After her husband had passed away and all the children were now married with children. To keep herself busy she picked up drawing. She was in her sixties when she began to draw. Whilst she was alive she refused to sell her drawings. When she died each drawing was sold for over a million dollars. Whatever your land is till it and in it you will find gold and every good thing of life. Don’t do ACCA because everyone is doing it. Don’t do CCNA and CCNP because your friends are doing it. If database is your area of expertise, stick to it. NOTE: Buried in every land are treasures. If you don’t till it, you will never discover the treasures. Author: S. Oluwatoki
