Camden County Prosecutors Office of New Jersey Press Release: Clementon Man Charged With Criminal Attempted Murder In Gloucester Township Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported that a Clementon man has been charged with Criminal Attempted Murder and assaulted on two Gloucester Township officers on August 10th after officers responded to a domestic violence incident. On August 10, 2014 at 11:21 am, Gloucester Township Police responding to the 1500 Building of the Cherrywood Apartments in Clementon, NJ for a 9-1-1 call of a fight. Responding officers heard a woman screaming and the sound of objects breaking coming from the apartment. Officers immediately entered the apartment and found, Ronald McGrath, age 54, of Clementon holding two large knives, one to the victim’s chest and the other to her leg. McGrath threatened to kill the victim and said that the officers would have to kill him. McGrath eventually dropped the knives but resisted arrest as officers attempted to place him into custody. The victim was treated for a laceration on her hand and two officers were sent to Virtua Hospital Voorhees for minor injuries and were later released. Ronald McGrath was charged with Criminal Attempted Murder, Terroristic Threats, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Criminal Mischief. He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility and his bail is currently $1,000,000.00 full cash. The Gloucester Township Police Department has programs in place to stem the damage done by domestic violence, and prevent violence from escalating. The department currently offers numerous community based programs in an effort to assist domestic violence victims including victim counseling, the Family Violence Prevention Program, a Domestic Violence Response Team, and a Domestic Violence Advocate in their Municipal Court.
