Came across a copy of the WW1 troops Active Service Pocket Book whilst on holiday on the Cambrian coast. Its actually a reprint produced raise awareness of WW1. In it, as well as the Gospel according to St John, contains the decision note, added at the request of chaplains, giving the troops the chance to gain reassurance by placing their trust in the hands of the Lord prior to action in the field. It also contains reassuring images reflecting on passages drawn from the text such as: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it John 1:5 I shall give them eternal life. And they shall never perish. John 10:28 Greater love has no-one than this: to lay down ones life for ones friends. John 15:13 All crushingly relevant to the campaign to save Fentons WW1 memorial, locked away from public view now for 20 months thanks to the Ministry of Justice and the local authority. Lets hope the community can provide the light to ensure the commemoration of these 498 men does not perish. Please sign our petition if you have done so already and please tell others about it. change.org/p/stop-the-desecration-of-fenton-great-war-memorial-1914-1918
