Came across this image a while back and it gave me chills. THIS is what Sue Storm should look like in a Fantastic Four movie. PERIOD. Back in the late 70s when I was a kid, my friends and I would endlessly discuss how cool an FF movie would be, then lament that it would never happen cause there was no way the special effects could be done properly. Now here we are, in a technological age where films can depict virtually anything, yet were cursed with these talentless, soulless hacks in charge of the property, shamelessly gambling for a profitable return by producing swill for what they see as the LCD Generation. The sad irony - and Im sure I speak for all of us in this group - is this: Just hire a talented writer (comic book fan or not) to sit down and read FF #1-100 and create a script that takes generously from any number of those Lee/Kirby storylines. Keep it in the 1960s, keep the original costumes, keep the characters and their origins true to the Lee/Kirby run, cast talented and dedicated unknown actors, add the special effects that are now possible, and you will have a monster hit. A hit movie that will bring in teenagers, their parents, and their grandparents. All of those people, and there are a lot of them, that read the comic book from 1961 on will see an accurate depiction that stirs their nostalgia, and the younger generation will quickly realize that heres a cool movie that broadens their horizons, sparks their imaginations, and doesnt insult their intelligence.
