Came across this post from a few months ago and feel compelled to share. This morning I woke up and went into prayer. I had a difficult time praying. I had a difficult time getting up. I am tired. I began to tell God I am tired. I told him that I am tired of everything being a struggle. I told him that it seems there is no area of my life that has peace. Everything requires a fight or some type of struggle. I had a very mundane disappointing time in prayer. I left the house on my way to work and my wife calls 20 minutes later. She tells me she is tired, having a difficult time praying, tired of everything being a struggle, no area of her life has peace, everything requires a fight and a struggle. She too has been facing mundane prayers. I didn’t know what to say so I simply agreed and told her I was feeling the same way. I got off the phone and just calmly said to God, God I am tired. Then he began to speak. Things began to slowly come together in my mind. This is a lot of different things that took about 30 minutes to come together so I will try to articulate it best I can. I began to remember that men I know who walk deep in the Spirit have often said that things in the natural usually gives a clue at what is happening in the Spirit. As I thought that, I remembered while in prayer this morning I kept thinking of the word pressure cooker while I was praying. I couldn’t get it out of my head. I actually prayed, God people on the news are talking about the middle east is like a pressure cooker getting ready to blow, I feel like there is pressure everywhere. I said, God it feels like we are in a pressure cooker. Then I remembered the news also said, the bombers at the Boston Marathon used a pressure cooker bomb. Then I began to connect it, the terms used are no accident, and all the clues are God whispering to us what is happening, he is giving us an awareness for those who will hear. If the things in the natural reflect the things in the Spirit, it is significant that these bombers picked the most recognized race in the world, and placed a bomb, a pressure cooker bomb, at the finish line. A pressure cooker bomb is used to focus the blast. It uses the pressure and design of the cooker to focus all of the force of the explosion onto the target. The target at the Boston Marathon was the finish line. I think what God is showing us is the devil is using pressure to try and blast us off the finish line, just before the race is over, just before we meet our goal. The pressure of performance, pressure of family, pressure of ambition, pressure of finances, pressure of life, pressure of jobs, pressure, pressure, pressure. His target is to blast us right off the finish. The finish of the race, the finish of our work, the finish of the season we are in, the finish where we get to rest. How sick it is of the devil, as runners could see victory in sight, could see rest for their work in sight, the result of their hard work and labor, could see the end of their trial, end of their run, and just before it’s over send a blast to knock them away from the finish line. Could it be that we feel all the pressure because we are nearing the finish line? Could it be the end of the race is near? Time will tell. Many because of what happened never finished. Many because of this tactic will never finish. Many who get caught up in the pressure of the blast, the pressure of Hell’s focus will choose to not finish. There is not much help in this thought, only awareness, only knowing what the devil is doing, realizing we are close to the finish, and it is not God wanting any of us to quit, it is the pressure sent by hell. The weapon hell is using at the end of the race, is the focused relentless pressure. All out turmoil in as many areas as possible, to make you feel as if you are in a constant fight, struggle, so you will give up. WE MUST STAND THROUGH THE PRESSURE! Even if it is hard, even if things turn out different than what we are used to, even if many turn away! Even if we have to change the way we measure success, we must be ready for what we face! At the Boston Marathon many of those where were just bystanders, who were just there to watch, became heroes because they quit watching, and started helping those who were caught up in the blast. This is who we must be, don’t run from the blast, run toward it! There will be a string of brokenness left behind by what Hell is doing, we must be ready! People will need people who know how to handle brokenness, who have seen pressure and endured it! Be ready! I turn my thoughts to the scriptures and this is where I end my thought: Daniel 7: 25-27 25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Daniel 11:32-35 32And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith: Hebrews 12:1-2 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Acts 20:24 - But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Galatians 6:9 - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Pastor Greg Marshall
