Came back from Chuuk last night. Was there for a few days. And what I witnessed was heart wrecking! (I did thoroughly enjoy the Fefen Municipal Inauguration event on the 29th.) We must break the cycle of corruption and exploitation that punctuate election frenzy at home, especially the exploitation of the vulnerable (the have-nots, the less informed, the non-educated, the marginal members) by those with means. Shame on us! I call on ALL Chuukese who wish for a just, decent, and prosperous home to stand on the side of moral and social justice and tear down the tyranny of exploitation, abuse of power, indifference to the rule of law and justice at home. It is time we rebuild for the better and make a stand against those we only care for their pathetic self-centered glory. Take a stand and make it known for the sake of those whose voice can not be heard.
