Came home to find that Craig had put our Christmas tree up. Now, dont get me wrong, I greatly appreciate his effort...but I wasnt ready. We talked about doing it this past weekend but just didnt so we planned to get to it this upcoming weekend. All the while, that darkness has been peering around the corner and Ive tried to keep pushing it away. Christmas will just never be the same. 22 years ago Christmas was the best and most memorable...we had a little red-headed baby boy crawling around and in awe with the tree and all its lights. Now that precious boy is in Heaven and it will just never be the same. 516 days. Some days it feels like yesterday and some days it feels like 516 days since Zac went to Heaven. And just as the darkness looms closer now and again, we are also reminded of our advent candle this past Sunday. The candle of Hope. Hope anchors the soul and Heaven promises a timeless future of health and wholeness and pleasure and peace. The Bible begins with the promise of a Redeemer in the book of Genesis (3:15) and ends with that same promise (Rev. 21:1-7)—a guarantee of future reality. The end will be the beginning. We will see him again! Love and miss you, son! Hugs to you in Heaven.
