Cami to Peshine Ave Elem: If at first you dont succeed, Renew Renew again. In September 2002, the Foundation for Newarks Future (Zuckerberg $$$) CEO Greg Taylor was asked for a story about a particular neighborhood or provider where you’ve already seen some of this work causing change? Presumably they meant positive change. Taylors interesting response was to highlight that Cami has voted to shut down some schools and named eight of them as “renew” schools. And one of those schools is a Peshine, a K-8 school. He continues It’s remarkable the degree to which parents, the new administration, the new principal and community leaders are working together to renew that school. [Peshine] is a school that has stood tall against the naysayers and is really starting to organize with the early childhood programs in its community. They are creating professional development and learning communities across preschools and aligning that with what is happening at the school. They are looking at aligning curriculum. Guess which school is being renewed again? Peshine.
