Camp Day 6: almost there! Last night the seniors broke into the staff cabin at 3:00am to surprise them with their traditional senior/staff ambush. MaryBeth told them to get out... and they left? What? You can see the results of their very sad raid in the photo of the single strand of TP hanging from a bunk. Today we finished roughing out the show. We still have a lot of work to do throughout the season, but the kids have familiarized themselves with about 40 pages of drill, six pieces of music and countless bits of information they have to commit to memory in order to perform a field show. Tonight they are holding a talent show which is followed by a candlelight serenade that signifies the end of camp and the last time our seniors will spend a week at d-bar-a as a Churchill Marching Band member. Tomorrow is mostly packing and cleaning and last minute run throughs of the stickier sections of the show. The performance will be held at the Trout Lake Pavilion at 1:00p. Park anywhere you can find space and bring a lawn chair or blanket. Cabin access is not allowed. After the show we ask for help in removing all personal items from the camp and packing large equipment on the trailer. You are responsible for taking your own equipment home if it fits in your car.
