Camp RUF is about you! - its a positive social movement ... :) Camp RUF is a celebration of humanitys love. Two-way true love can move moutains and shake oceans. Im glad I saw that in Tenzin Dorji when I first met him and heard about his (late) Kelzangs dream of Camp RUF that he would now struggle against all odds to carry it forward in her absence. I waited for a moment, looked in his eyes, and let silence between us speak. It was in that silent moment that I felt his (late) Kelzang loved him equally or more than he loves her. It was (late) Kelzangs love for him and his love for her that inspired me to write an article on my Facebook page titled A tireless teacher for a timeless dream that went viral with 398 shares. When Tenzin asked me advice on idea of Camp RUF, I said let it be a celebration of two-way true love, let it be a journey, not a destination, that could create a social movement for social good - a positive social change to celebrate humanitys love through Rural-Urban Friendship for children, who would grow up as caring future leaders or loving citizens. I told him not to go to one big sponsor who could throw money in the crowd of poor or sponsor Camp RUF as a charity.I told him Camp RUF is not a charity. It has to be a celebration of love and human goodness. When its a celebration, we must involve peoples hearts - as many as possible. So I told him to involve as many people in the journey as possible no matter how small their contribution may be if their hearts are big. Today, Im glad that Camp RUF is gaining a slow but steady momentum towards a positive social movement of human goodness, and I hope one day it will move mountains and shake oceans in peoples hearts because after all we are all human beings and common humanity in us binds us all together. I always say, Happiness is being human first. I urge all to support Camp RUF from your heart because Camp RUF is about you, your hearts - a platform for reflections of your hearts and that you believe in the goodness of humanity. No matter how small you feel individually, together we can be an ocean - an ocean of love toward better Bhutan and better world for better tomorrow. Tenzin and Kelzangs two-way true love is a spark. But its trust and goodness in each of you that must make this spark glow into a social movement of humanitys love. So please support Camp RUF - its about you!
