Camp TAG (The Allergy Gang) 2014 Camp TAG was a huge success in Williamstown, New Jersey, for the fourth year in a row. We had 40 campers and 14 counselors (5 from FAACT’s Teen Advisory Council) plus Amelia Smith Murphree and Eleanor Garrow-Holding from FAACT. There were all kinds of activities, from swimming, Ga-ga, ghost, archery, lacrosse, and zip lining to arts, crafts, music, and food allergy education each day. This year, FAACT offered an educational workshop for Camp TAG parents that covered food allergy management in the school setting, 504 plans, IHCP’s, IEP’s, and accommodations. The planned 90-minute workshop, led by Amelia Smith Murphree, FAACT’s Vice President of Civil Rights Advocacy, turned into a 3-hour workshop due to the many questions parents had on this topic, and the take-home materials proved beneficial for all.
