Campbell Brown and others who want to take away due process claim it’s nearly impossible to remove teachers when necessary. But the facts show otherwise. Hundreds of teachers leave city schools each year as a result of failing to meet standards or disciplinary action. The DOE already has the tools it needs to ensure that teachers who should not be in the classroom are in fact not in the classroom, a UFT spokesman said.
