Can Cannabis really decide the Florida Governors race? For all of you that have been following this race, it is the tightest one in the Country and if Charlie Crist played his cards right then he will end up back in the mansion, not because he has the best platform or is more popular, but because he is in favor of legal medicinal Cannabis while his opponent Rick Scott is not. The irony of this is that while Crist may win by a razor thin Cannabis driven margin, medical Cannabis may very likely not make it due to the fact that FL requires a 60% majority to change the State constitution, which is looking more and more unlikely. I suggest that if you are a Florida resident and Crist wins the election, but medical Cannabis falls short, then you put real pressure on him to pass legislation himself to thank the people that put him back in power. Cannabis is medicine, not an issue that a vulnerable politician can use to gain office again. He does not care about this issue, he only cares about power. Make him care by reminding him of how he got back in office. One more thing to remember here; if his strategy of supporting Cannabis to win an election does work, we will be seeing other Dems using the same tactic or watching GOP candidates try the same to try and thwart their Dem opponents. Cannabis may be the hot button issue for years to come that put politicians in battleground states across the line. We need to leverage that to our advantage by only allowing a candidate to claim the s/he is pro Cannabis if they are willing to meet with MPP, NCIA or NORML reps and support real legislation, not the junk you see coming out of MA and CT. cnn/2014/11/03/politics/pot-politics-florida/index.html
