Can Do Campbell Can Do Unemployment: Clive Palmer Campbell Newman was to blame for Queensland’s unemployment rate reaching its highest level in more than a decade, according to the federal Leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer. “As the Premier of Queensland he is responsible for the unemployment rate climbing to almost 7.0 per cent,’’ he said. “He calls himself Can Do Campbell but all he ‘Can Do’ is create unemployment.” Mr Palmer said the Newman government had a “can’t do” attitude in not allowing Queensland individuals and companies to participate in the economy thereby driving growth and creating jobs. “This has resulted in ever increasing unemployment and more businesses closing or spiralling backwards,’’ Mr Palmer said. “Campbell Newman has destroyed domestic demand resulting in businesses downsizing and shutting their doors.” “The Queensland Government had targeted four per cent unemployment yet Can Do Campbell has achieved nearly 7.0 per cent. How can he and his government be almost 100 per cent off this target? “Campbell Newman and his government have failed Queensland,’’ Mr Palmer said.
