Can I ask a huge favour of everyone connected with the ongoing struggle for an independent Scotland. I do not wish to offend anyone or in any way curb their enthusiasm for our noble cause but could we conduct ourselves with dignity and refrain from the personal attacks, name calling and cartoons filled with hateful and banal effigies of our opponents. Please? Without realising it we are handing the people we seek to overcome by intelligent peaceful means the ammunition to exaggerate the excesses shown in these posts to the detriment of the campaign. As I said I am not trying to tell people what to do or otherwise, it just seems that these will be exploited by the very forces we wish to see expunged from the political landscape of our country. They have done so in the past and will not hesitate to do so in the future as we all know. They will use these as a point of attack on the hard earned status which we enjoy at the moment and it would be sheer folly to supply them with any bullets to fire at the independence movement. Can we instead intensify our efforts to serious campaigning and win over the rest of Scotland with fair and honest arguments based on truth. Thank You.
