Can Messianic Jews who believe in the corporeality of the Creator - TopicsExpress

Can Messianic Jews who believe in the corporeality of the Creator be considered real Jews? ________________________________________________ Im going to go out on a limb here and say that even if someone believes that the G-d of Israel became a man or is corporeal in any way he could still be a Jew and still be in good standing with the G-d of Israel. Now Im in NO WAY condoning this and I obviously DO NOT believe that the almighty is corporeal in ANYWAY but I do acknowledge that this became known halachicaly as idolatry post the era of the Rishonim. (****Not to mention that I believe that this belief (that the Creator has a body) is very philosophically PRIMITIVE).. Even the Raavid attacks the Rambam for making the statement that those who believed that G-d is Corporeal are heretics, he said many greater Rabbis than you (Rambam) thought he did have a body. As a matter of fact this was a prevalent beleif among the Bnei Ashkenaz (fact explained by R Jose Faur). What stops someone from being a Jew is rejecting Torah and the law giver... everything else is philosophical arguments that dont appear in Torah... Now halachically Chazal could have made this clearer from a Rabbinic perspective and thus legally they would not be counted among Klal Yisral but they didnt... And even if they would have this would just bind them (halachicly) legally and not from a Torah level... Now the only thing that makes one a heretic is by teaching that you must also believe it in order to be in good standing with the creator (saved).. To this there is no exception... But in the same sense by us teaching that they are heretics for doing so makes us heretics also.... (lo tosef alav) I would love to hear your thoughts about this...
