Can a humble man or woman be a strong and effective leader? Abraham Lincoln is one historical example that comes to mind. No doubt, maintaining an air of self-importance can intimidate and even motivate people, but doesnt it also feed feelings of resentment, and invite betrayal and subterfuge within the cadre of essential staff of underlings who support the leader? The world need more leaders who are willing to humbly admit that they are only human. We seldom hear humility from world leaders- or even mayors and college presidents- at least until one of them falls from grace and is desperately looking for new friends.
