Can a problem be solved solely by practical approaches without a - TopicsExpress

Can a problem be solved solely by practical approaches without a theoretical understanding of the problem? Take the issue of corruption for example. General Abacha came with his war against corruption - and ended up only locking up some directors of banks under his Failed Banks Tribunal. Some bank directors were accused of mismanaging N10m. Some N5m. So these paltry sums were responsible for bringing Nigeria to her knees? Meanwhile it was eventually revealed that Abacha stole over $5 billion himself! General Obasanjo came rushing with his I will spare nothing to stamp out corruption...I will leave no stone unturned to uproot corruption...There shall be no sacred cows...I will step on toes...etc - We all know the rest. General Buhari comes along with his I will stamp out corruption...I will... Ah! Just stop there pls. Enough of this bullshit from generals. We need insightful leaders who understand the vice of corruption principally. We need leaders who understand that corruption is an effect. Thus tackling it headlong will produce at best temporary results. The natural cause of corruption is rooted in greed. Greed is rooted in insecurity, which is of course a fear based reaction. Thus FEAR remains the root cause of corruption. Who has seen a nation whose citizens are more fearful than Nigerians? I have not. Fear of not making it will lead to fraud. Fear of poverty will lead to theft. Fear of inadequacies will lead to seeking to amass more than required. Fear of being looked down upon will lead to insensitivity and little consideration for the welfare of others. And unless these fears are dispersed, anything we believe we are doing in tackling corruption amounts to mere treating the symptoms of an ailment, while the causative elements remain untouched. And who are the leaders to work and eliminate this causative elements of corruption? They are you and I. We dont have to hold high office in the govt to add a strong drive of potential force in ridding our nation of corruption. We can be leaders of our own lives (many people are not), leaders in our homes, schools, communities, churches, mosques, committees, estate associations, clubs etc. Where ever you can exert the slightest influence, you have a leadership role to play there, no matter how minor. Never miss an opportunity to help disperse FEAR as much as you can from the minds and psyche of others. Always strive to replace fear with knowledge. Always remind others that fear remains a choice and no law unto man. However, never attempt any direct or drastic reform in the lives of others as they are free by Natural Law to continue to choose whatever they like and will of course get compensated by the Natural Law of Karma. Help the people around you realize the difference between CAUTION and fear. The first is built around reason and understanding, the latter emotion and instinct. Can we do this peeps? Yes we can! Start today, start right now! Peace, Love and Progress unto all... Have a lovely weekend.
