Can anyone please explain to me what turning the backs towards the mayor means? I dont understand. Do police officers feel that the mayor does not support them? Why do they feel that way? In my opinion, if the mayor does not support the police officers who do wrong wearing the badge, it does NOT mean that the mayor does not support police officers, it just means he does not support idiots who happen to wear the badge. The badge does NOT mean unlimited license or support, it means that the person wearing the badge is supposed to almost inhumanly flawless. The small flaws are necessarily shoved under the rug, but, the HUGE ones, the awful ones, they do not get to use the badge to skirt the law. Most police officers are PEACE officers, and we need to respect that. However, the few that use the power that is innate to the badge, those few, they NEED to be held accountable to ensure that law and order are upheld
