Can not be right: I am not sure about the optimum number of subjects a university teacher should take. However, I know the staff at the UofK and other universities are heavily overloaded. This is primarily caused by their basic needs to make ends meet together with the severe shortage of staff in the first place. I am giving below the list of courses I taught during the last eight months (two semesters) at the UofK and elsewhere: -- (1) Performance Engineering (UofK 5th), (2) Electronics-III (UofK 5th), (3) Electronics-II (UofK 4th), (4) Design and Analysis of Algorithms (UofK MSc), (5) Real-time Systems (UofK Msc), (6) Programming Embedded Systems (MSc Elneilein), (7) Guided Projects (MSc Elneilein), (8) Very Large Scale Integration (UofK 5th), (9) Microelectronics (UofK 4th), (10) Power Electronics (UofK 5th), (11) Embedded Systems (UofK MSc), (12) Performance of Computer Systems (UofK MSc), (13) Nanostructures and Devices (MSc Nano), (14) Power Electronics (UofK Msc) and (15) Principles of Embedded Systems (MSc Elneilein). -- I am not going to tell you the number of BSc, MSc and PhD students I am supervising. These are just overwhelming and unbelievable. This heavy overload is bound to affect my concentration and compromise my performance while delivering these courses. This can not be right! Surely, it is not sustainable and should be taken as an alarm sign. 03/June/2014
