Can one of you geniuses explain to me how banning single use plastic bags reduces the amount of trash we generate & throw away? And how it will somehow help the environment... I see 2 completely opposite things happening: 1, the mentally challenged portion of our population begin throwing even more food waste, pet feces & other goodies directly in trash bins instead of in sealed plastic bags , mmm isnt that an environmentally tasty odor emerging throughout Los Angeles on a hot summer day... Better stock up on fly swatters & Ebola shots. 2, the rest of us who still have a few brain cells remaining end up purchasing even more commercial trash bags, you know, the thicker ones with the draw strap that use more plastic & require more of your precious energy to produce in order to properly bag our trash.
