Can some please tell me again HOW boxing is a civilized sport? Max Baer killed Frankie Campbell. Campbell collapsed in the corner after taking many shots in the corner. Baer was found to be uncontrollably sobbing when he heard that Campbell had died having spent every hour in by his side following the fight. Sugar Ray Robinson killed Jimmy Doyle in the ring. Robinson tried to pull out of the fight after having a dream that he would accidently kill Doyle in the ring. He was convinced to go ahead with the fight and Doyle died afterwards from injuries he suffered during the fight. Emile Griffith killed Benny Paret in their third fight. In round twelve Griffith knocked Paret unconscious yet Paret stood, still propped up against the ropes while Griffith struck Paret repeatedly over the next several seconds before the referee stopped the fight. Paret never regained consciousness, and he died ten days later. Ray Mancini killed Duk Koo Kim in a match which changed the rules of boxing. Kim had trouble making weight and despite putting up a good fight he became a punchbag in the later rounds and he suffered brain injuries and died five days later. Kims mother and the referee committed suicide in the next 6 months and Mancini spent a great deal of time blaming himself for Kims death. Smh.
