Can someone please clarify something for me.. if youre renting a house with somebody and have to leave for whatever reason, you give one months notice (in my case i gave six weeks notice) and come to an arrangement with the other tenant that they want to sort out the new tenant therefor wiping your hands clean of that responsibility, you get your deposit back because u did not break your contract or anything.. right? Should I have to lose my deposit because the other tenant did not get someone in on time for whatever reason? I did everything i was to do - where does the responsibilty lay in this situation? Does it boil down to my own stupidity for allowing someone else to take the responsibility of getting someone new in - in turn losing my money? Or am i still entitled to my deposit back because i gave all parties enough notice(according to tenancy laws) to make their new arrangements?
