Can someone please explain how the state can get away with removing the STAAR modified test? Kids with an IEP (individualized education plan) have specific accommodations or modified work , but now have to take the same STAAR test as everyone else??? I dont know how TEA can get away with this! I think parents of kids receiving special ed services need to take a stand and question this! It just makes no sense for them to receive individualized instruction by law then to take the same test as anyone else. They still get accommodations on the tests, but the modified test was successful for some students and it was more feasible for them to pass. It all just makes no sense and seems like a huge contradiction to the purpose of having an IEP! ~Texas Mother
