Can someone please explain this 2 me? 2day was awesome, teaching on servant-hood & how Jesus is our example. When Jesus washed the disciples feet & got 2 Peter, Peter said Jesus should not be washing his feet, it should be the other way around. How was this prideful? Peter understood & knew who was standing in front of him. He knew that his Lord was wanting 2 wash his dirty feet. I can understand his heart. He didnt feel like Jesus should serve him, but he should be the one serving. Although I understand Jesus was teaching by example of how we are supposed 2 be servants & not exalt ourselves thinking we are 2 good 4 something, I understand what Peter was saying. He knew his place. At the beginning of the foot washing 2day, Angela Jones, my best friend & pastor, grabbed my hand to lead me 2 the chair 2 wash my feet. God placed me in a position of being able 2 serve her & her family. I am there 2 take the heavy load off of her shoulders in any way I can; to be there whenever they need me. It didnt seem right that she should now be washing my feet. It brought me 2 tears. So I completely understand Peters heart. Not that Angela is my god, but she is in a place of honor & authority. Feels unnatural 2 have her stoop 2 a level like that. Thats all Peter was saying....Youre my Lord, let me serve You. You do not need 2 serve me.....How is this prideful?????
