Can someone please explain to me what Underground DJ/EDM is? I guarantee that UNDERGROUND DJ you love so much is playing 80-90% tracks by a known and accredited artist. Whats underground about that again? There isnt a genre out that in some place isnt freaking stupid popular which in fact is NOT UNDERGROUND AT ALL. Tracks are released on the internet via a label, brand, or music portal, or forum. Theres nothing underground about it anymore. Its all public domain / open availability. Most people should be complaining about the lack of creativity most DJs portray. Great you can play bangers. Now can you play non bangers and move a crowd? The 90s / early 2000s warehouse days are over. EDM is Mainstream now. Get over it. Now the the perks to this mainstream side. We dont have to hide anymore throwing parties in seedy warehouses and are treated like the red headed stepchild of the industry with a police raid waiting down the street.
