Can the Upsurged Modi Wave Add more Steam to Parivartan in Bengal ? Added on 14th March : the resurgent BJP in Bengal in tune with the all India Modi wave has decided to fight alone for all the 42 seats in Bengal and selected many old and few renowned persons as the candidate . But it is going to be tough fight, as the ma, mati manush led Mamta Banerjees TMC has called for Parivartan three years back and settled herself on the driving seat. But the change has not come as desired, it has resulted in change of cadre only. Minority welfare has grown more on papers, insecurity specially in women class has risen, economic and industrial growth has not started, and more over the party has been forced to save the vote power bank by using more populist unproductive acts and doles. TMC has some genuine problem : the exchequer is empty and it is forcibly dried down in interest and past loan payment, while no substantial help is obtained from central government. Economic activities are not getting a big boost for lack on many policy parameters and absence of trust among investing businessmen . All this have made this loksabha election 2014 that much more important for the people of Bengal to make best use of this Modi wave for Prime Minister, to benefit and restart Bengal in 2014 second Parivartan, when enough Treasury side members will be rooting for the cause of the Bengal, which had been discarded by the political parties in power at Delhi for last many decades. The people must objectively decide their future in central politics more judiciously and effectively to bring Parivartan Plus . Sunday, 26 January 2014 : Can the Upsurged Modi Wave Add more Steam to Parivartan in Bengal ? As anticipated long back, the Narendra Modi wave have reached the Bengal shores. BJP long forgotten in Bengal after Vajpayees NDA rule has made a comeback , as seen in more than two-fold increase in the membership of the BJPs state unit. BJP leader in West Bengal claimed that the total membership has increased from three lakh in 2011 to more than seven lakh in 2013. BJP spokesperson and co-in-charge of the partys Bengal unit Siddhinath Singh told a news media that even two lakh new members have enrolled just in the last six months, only after Modis anointment as the prime ministerial candidate. The ABVP, youth wing of the BJP, too witnessed a surge in its membership with the enrolment of 45,000 new members in the last one year, along with a 50 per cent jump in membership in BJPs minority and womens wings. BJP has made a successful comeback in Bengal. A breakthrough was the defeat of Left candidate and Mayor Mamata Jaiswal at the hands of BJPs Gita Rai in the municipal polls in Howrah. The rising popularity graph of the BJP can also be sensed from huge willing applicants from various groups of society, expressing their desire to contest as BJP candidates in 42 Lok Sabha seats in the coming Lok Sabha polls. With a real Opposition missing in West Bengal after the fall of the mighty Left in 2011, the BJP has been slowly working to make its presence felt, especially in the rural areas of south Bengal taking help of Modis rising graph. The Muslim community in the state being 27% of the total population wields a considerable influence in more than 50% Assembly constituencies and that has been richly en cashed by all the parties to win elections. And opposing BJP played a big role in their strategy, but as the things have changed nationally, while good governance and developments are fast becoming the key factors for the next election for choosing of national leadership, it needs to be seen , how BJP projects itself in Bengal in the new national perspective ? Can BJP play a solid role of good governance and overall development theme along with the local slogan of Parivartan, and align with the main stream party without hurting the minority balancing applecart ? It will be worth watching in next three months, what is the mood of people and the state political parties. Will the principal party come along with the side, where wind is blowing nationally ? Moreover people of Bengal have also to vision positively their future in the changed circumstances for the next decade . INDIA HONEST observes that Bengal has played an important role almost similar to Karnataka in last NDA , it had been one time important ally state during the NDA rule, Bengal can still play an close associate s important role in Modis goal at Delhi, provided the local BJP leadership along with the people including the minority opt to play a wise and positive game plan for the nation..............
