Can the mind heal the body? Is there any proof? The medical community has been proving this for more than 50 years, they call it the "placebo effect". A placebo is not something fake, it is something outside of the realm of medicine. We know that 18-80% of the time when people enrole in a clinical trial are going to get better - whether or not they receive the drug or placebo - In the Rogaine trial men grew their hair back when they received the placebo. The changes are purely physiological and can be measured by science but how come? How does it work? I have been listening to another great talk by Dr Lissa Rankin about "Mind over Medicine", fascinating stuff. GB
