Can we change gears and talk about this School Bond Measure. It is to provide Fences to keep out intruders, offices big enough for families to meet with principals. The district is asking voters to approve the $396 million Measure GG to expand or replace buildings and energy-inefficient portables, improve student safety and security and “instructional technology, The bonds, along with developer fees, also would help pay for two new schools in Eastvale – Rondo Elementary and an alternative high school. Construction should be finished next summer for Ronald Reagan Elementary in Eastvale. The money would cover projects in four categories: • $248.1 million for building additions and upgrades, including replacing some air conditioners. • $56 million for instructional technology. • $16.9 million for student safety. • $75 million for new schools.(NOT IM CORONA) The bond measure would add about $24 in new property taxes per $100,000 of assessed valuation, about $75 a year for the average home in the district that stretches from Eastvale to the Temescal Valley. Average home values were about $310,000 last year.
