Can we know details about the future from the Bible? John - TopicsExpress

Can we know details about the future from the Bible? John 15:14,15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. This is apparent that there are two possibilities. Either you will be caught off guard when Christ comes or you won’t. That state of readiness is determined by one condition. Are you watching for Him? The fact that we can watch and not be caught unawares is very clear. Hebrews 9:28 re-enforces this idea because according to that passage, Christ “will appear the second time without sin unto salvation” to them that look for Him. This means that if we’re watching, He won’t come like a thief. That’s the other alternative, and through Bible prophecy, that’s exactly what God does, he tells us details about His coming in His Word. They are found with the leading of the Holy Spirit in the Bible when you request it. Stop and make your request now. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The Bible is what was revealed to His servants the prophets and was passed down through the millennia for us. God told Daniel toward the end knowledge would increase, Daniel 12:4, and since Bible prophecy tells future events (to the day just like the first 69 weeks of Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy) and God won’t do anything without letting us know, we can expect to find the answers, the Truth, in the Bible. There is only one Truth. Having that Truth depends on how much one relies on the Bible for their foundation. Relying on our own perceptions is fatal because we don’t have full knowledge, none of us and not even all of us put together. Not having all the facts causes fatally bad decisions and beliefs. Where do you put your foundation? I trust the King James Bible. To understand the universe and why it all works the way it does, you must understand the Creator of that universe because the Creator makes the rules. The problem is that nobody knows the Bible inside and out in all perfection. Indeed, many skim through it not defining their foundational points before adding to the misunderstood definitions. It’s like traveling through space. If you are even one degree off in your charting at the beginning, by the time you go the distance to your destination, you are way off the mark. It’s the same thing with Bible prophecy. If you haven’t defined and founded your terms in the Bible solidly, then every new piece to the puzzle of Bible prophecy you try to add won’t fit with the whole. It’s at that point that many are willing to adjust slightly or spiritualize the actual meaning in scripture to make things work. Most of the time, they probably don’t even realize they’re doing it. I did that for a while myself but ultimately my search is one for Truth and there is only One Truth. Now I don’t claim to know everything. In fact, that’s why I started from scratch in my Bible study of the end times toward the end of 2005. I decided to start off with the exact-day prophesies of Daniel and Revelation because you can’t misinterpret numbers and taking God for His Word, these are exact numbers of days between events. They must be written there for a reason. From there, I found that I had to define my terms according to scripture. I discovered this through several Christian bulletin boards. So many people had different ideas of what the great tribulation is, or what the first resurrection is. They all sounded good when I didn’t really do the research myself, so I stopped listening to them all and dug into the Bible. When I did, I found that Amos 3:7 was an absolutely 100% true statement of God’s Word to us. Not only did the exact-day prophecies lay out the 70th week of Daniel with amazing detail, but when combined with a solid Biblical foundation for the terminology, I didn’t have to force any pieces to the puzzle, they all just fell into place. In building a house, it is with the framework we begin. It is the core design structure to which everything else is attached. By taking the Word of God as Truth and building the framework in the timeline of human history from what He told us, our framework for Bible prophecy is revealed and that is a precept that gives foundation upon which to build understanding from other scripture. I know some would hear all this and say I’m claiming exclusive understanding or something. But my defense is in the Bible because that is my foundation. Besides, prophecy is of no private interpretation. The same words are written there for everyone. What meanings people decide to put on those words is the problem. Sure, everyone says that the Bible is their foundation, but why do some of their ideas go against passages in the Bible? I have faith that what the Bible has told me is 100% true. Double check my studies please. I’ve created a Bible study guide on my website that links to the main Bible studies and foundational points. I don’t care if you believe me, just trust the Word of God. In fact, don’t believe anything I tell you, compare what I share yourself in the Word. We all need to check our motivations. Are we out to prove a point and get people to believe, or do we want to know the Truth, even if it goes against what other people have taught us our whole lives? Don’t trust men, trust the Word. This is my search for Truth shared with those who would listen because I love you and the Truth is free. Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. Once again, I don’t know everything. But, I know what I have read in the Bible, and my interest in sharing it is that nobody thinks we can really know the truth of the matter. They believe this because of all the deception that our enemy has thrown in to disorient us through history. That’s why I cried out to God for His Truth to be shown to me. He is faithful to answer everyone of us. I’m no more special to God than you are and I firmly believe that if everyone takes the Bible for what it says, they can all see the exact same things I do. We are one body under Christ our head and He has given us One Word, His Bible with which to understand His will and His design. Revelation 22:18-20 I have yet to find a conflict in the Bible for a pre-wrath harpazo of the bride, while I’ve found scriptures that disprove pre-trib and post-trib (as traditionally understood at the end of the 3 1/2 years). I’ve also found that “great tribulation” has been a term too often thrown around without sufficient research into defining it. Bottom line... God did not leave us blind. He promised we would know what is going on so we wouldn’t be caught off guard by His coming like a thief. This principle is evident throughout the scriptures where God has let those who obey Him know what is going on. That’s what Bible prophecy is! God warning those who would listen and believe and obey of the things to come that directly affect our lives and even our eternity. Genesis 18:17-23 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? By Abraham’s response in asking how many righteous would be saved, God did tell him His plans. So did He tell Daniel in Daniel 9. As well as John in Revelation. These aren’t there for no reason, they lay out the details. We can’t figure it out on our own, ask for guidance to the Truth again and again while reading the Word and discussing it here and elsewhere. I believe the only detail the Bible doesn’t reveal with research in the Word is the day and hour timing of the harpazo of the bride. God will provide understanding for everything else as needed or allowed. Most of all, it is prophecy that is testimony of Christ. I believe this should be a large part of the activity of the body of Christ in waiting and watching, that is understanding Bible prophecy and the center of it, Yeshua Ha Mashiach. Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
