Can we stop stigmatized mental heath issues now? Robin Williams fought this battle his entire life. Substance abuse and addictions usually at their base are caused by mental health issues. Thousands of suicides among veterans, active duty military and the general population have obvious mental heath causation. Spousal abuse, rape, child molestation, should I go on? Do we laugh at or shun people who have broken arms, legs or cancer? Do we send a family member out into the streets because they have diabetes? Then why do we do these things to people who have mental health issues? Is not the brain just another organ in our body? Can we god damn grow the hell up now? Can we stop snickering at and feeling SO self superior to that guy talking to himself in the doorway? If someone with so many resources at their disposal and so much to live for, loved and admired by so many millions of people can have such a horrid end to a tortured life, can THAT wake us UP?
