Can you INDENTIFY Crisis? Being unprepared usually leads to negligence, disregard or denial of crises. Often The youth, family or group functioning within the same community do not learn from each other’s failures, which consequently can result in the ignorance of potential warning signs. This has resulted in the youth, family, group and even generations witnessing numerous people (family, friends) and even community elders, leaders, authorities mismanaging their crises. They simply make the situation worse by relying on the ‘head in the sand’ approach; ignoring the crisis as they receive negative attention and this in essence is supporting, condoning, promoting the atmosphere that the crisis facilitates. Failure to implement a crisis management approach usually leads to mismanagement. Being unprepared when the unexpected happens, a person quickly ends up in a defensive position as they REACT to the conditions of the crisis instead of their own initiative. This has the potential to put the community in a negative spin. One in which may compound the potentially harmful behaviors, actions and mentalities of the crisis. This then forces the youth, family, community who are or have been exposed to a constantly evolving crisis to adapt and adjust their lifestyles accordingly. This is what makes the harmful behaviors, actions and mentalities the new NORM and the NORM becomes accepted and even expected. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE !
