Can you convert a Muslim by simply using their Quran? Is this possible? Why does the Quran paint Jesus in a more favorable light then Mohammad? In Sura Al-Imran 3:49 it says, ...I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allahs leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allahs leave... If he heals the blind, the lepers and raises the dead, then Jesus must be God! But my friend would say, Quran also says in Sura Al-Muminun 23:91, No son did Allah beget. And not only this, but also 12 other verses in the Quran say Allah has no son. (See Suras 2:116; 4:171; 6:101; 10:68; 17:111; 18:4-5; 19:35; 19:88-95; 21:26; 25:2; 39:4; and 43:81) And if Allah had no son, then Jesus is not Allahs son. And if Jesus is not Allahs son, then he is not divine. Besides, the Quran is very clear: Jesus is a created being. Sura Al-Imran 3:59 says, The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: Be. And he was. She said, My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me? [The angel] said, Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, Be, and it is. Surah 3:47-48 If Jesus is created, then he cannot be God, but He was not created like any other man. He was decreed to be and it was so. What then was the purpose of decreeing this Child? This then appear to be a contradiction. As I have read the Quran there are several more contradictions. Another example is: ALLAH is HE besides Whom there is none worthy of worship, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. HE has sent down to thee the Book containing the truth and fulfilling that which precedes it; and HE has sent down the Torah (Law of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guidance to the people; and HE has sent down the Discrimination (judgment between right and wrong).—Quran, Surah 3:3-4 There are 114 chapters and 6666 verses in the Quran. The name of the Prophet Mohammed was found in only 4 places. But the name of Jesus was found 25 places. The confusion I had was why the Quran was giving more preference to Jesus? When you read the Quran you will not find any womens name found in the Quran not even the name of Mohammads mother or his wife or daughters. In the Quran there is only one womans name found (Mariam the mother of Jesus) and even on chapter 3 is Family of Mariam and Chapter 19 itself is Mariam. It speaks of her as one born without sin and not committing any sin and she went to heaven with her physical body (Kind of like what the Catholics believe and teach). 10 points that the Quran makes about Jesus: 1. That He is the Word of God or messenger 2. That He has or is the Spirit of God 3. That He is Jesus Christ (the work Christ means that He is the Anointed One or Savior) 4. It says that Jesus spoke at 2 days old after His birth 5. It says that Jesus created a live bird with mud by breathing life into mud or dirt that he formed into a bird. Identifying Him with the Creator God who from the dust of the earth He formed man and breathed into him and man became a living soul. He can give life 6. Jesus cured a man born blind and cured a man with leprosy. Only God can do this kind of healing. 7. Jesus gave life to dead people. That is not human but only God can do this. 8. Jesus went to heaven. 9. Jesus is still alive to this day in the flesh 10. Jesus will return to earth again. All of this points to Jesus as being Divine. On the other hand what does the Qur’an say about Mohammed: 1. The Prophet Mohammed is not the Word of God 2. The Prophet Mohammed is not the Spirit of God 3. He did not speak when he was 2 days old 4. He never created any bird with mud or give life to it 5. He never cured anyone who was sick 6. He never raised anyone from the dead 7. He himself died and is not alive today 8. And according to Islam he will not come back So there is a huge difference between the two “Prophets”. But logic would say that according to the Qur’an would Jesus be a Prophet greater than Mohammad? Ask your Imam how God created the Universe and he will answer that God created the Universe through the Word. My next question would is this: Was the “WORD” Creator or Creation? That is whether the Word of God is Creator or Creation? This is where we get stuck. Because if the Qur’an says that the Word of God is Creator then Jesus is the Creator. This is a huge problem for my Muslim Friends and they do not know how to answer this dilemma. If it is true then it suggests that all Muslims then MUST BECOME CHRISTIANS.
