Can you help Anon? I delivered a 4 tier wedding cake, chocolate, vanilla and carrot at the end of August. A week after the wedding the brides father contacted me saying they couldnt serve the cake as it was mouldy. I immediately replied saying Im horrified as Ive been baking professionally for nearly 8 years and have never had 1 complaint about any of my cakes. I offered a refund and also asked if he had any photos of the mouldy cake. He never replied. 6 weeks later I got an email from the bride saying that the entire cake was mouldy and they couldnt even serve a slice of it. There was no cream cheese icing in the carrot cake. It was baked 4 days before the wedding day and iced and sealed on the day of baking. Should I offer them a full refund? I ask the bride for any photos or description of the mould and havent (yet) had a reply 4 days later. Thank you for any advice! Over to you CakeBakers!
