Can you help a first time Mumma to be? Mums, I need your advice please. Not having family or friends to discuss this with makes it very difficult to decide what to do. At what point did you take full maternity leave? Ive not long downgraded to part-time when Im used to working 7 days. Im technically supposed to be on full leave asap as we have a little one working towards early eviction against all orders. My issue is that as a small business owner, I dont wish to take leave too early for many reasons but the main being concerned that if I do, I am letting people down by inconveniencing them & that the longer Im away the more it may affect my return to work. Id be heartbroken should all my years of effort fall apart with the loss of business after taking 3-6 months off work. Im pushing to stay at work for the entire 9 months if only a few hours a day (currently struggling at the near 8 month mark) & effectively guilting myself into going back as soon as I possibly can. The other thing playing on my mind is no work = no income. Has anyone else experienced this & how did it turn out for you? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
