Can you help get us over the line? Did you know that millions of tonnes of coal are transported through residential areas in New South Wales each year? Coal affected communities want the NSW Government to instruct the coal industry to cover and wash coal wagons, effectively reducing particle pollution by 99%. In order to trigger debate on this matter in the NSW Parliament we need to collect 10,000 hard copy signatures. And we’re so close — in just a few months, we’ve gathered over 8,000 signatures — more than 80% of our goal. So we’re extending the deadline to Monday 21st July. This means we need 2000 signatures in 2 weeks. Help us blitz our goal! Uncovered coal wagons are a major source of particle pollution, causing serious cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses.
