Can you imagine how terrifying it is for someone deeply indoctrinated, who believed every authority figure who told him there was one correct answer---to find out that people made it all up? Some people cant hold it together mentally without the security that they derive from thinking themselves educated. The Reece committee testimony by Dodd makes such people lose their minds.
