Can you meet your soulmate on the singles scene ? The answer is yes. I know this to be a fact, because that’s just what happened to me. I met my lovely late wife that way in 1999. We met at St Leonards Rubgy Club, At a singles dahnce (not a daance), On Valentine’s Day, And our eyes really did meet across a crowded room. From two weeks after we met, we were practically inseparable. Both had been very lonely for a very long time. No children or previous marriage for either. No long term relationships for either. We felt instantly and completely comfortable in each others’ company. But it was not a grand passion. No thunder and lightning. Just a wonderful feeling of comfort. We were married later the same year, and remained happily so until her sudden death in 2011. [I will write a separate post about that – stay tuned]. So if anyone ever tells you the singles scene is a waste, and you’ll never find your ideal partner there, go ahead and tell ‘em my story. It can happen.
