Can you open your heart and home to a pet in need? Please consider fostering. Fostering is a heart-warming rewarding experience that gives a pet an opportunity to experience love and compassion that often they have never experienced before. Most rescue groups are now foster based. Placing a pet in a home while waiting for their forever home has many rewards for both the pet and the carer. Fostering is ideal for people who are renting that are allowed pets but don’t have the security of the lease being permanent. There is no fee to foster however you will need to cover food and some other costs such as transporting the pet to a vet and adoption days. All vet fees are paid for by the rescue groups. If you are considering adopting a pet then fostering gives you the opportunity to foster a pet and see if this pet works with your family and lifestyle before committing to adopt. NARGA is a not for profit organisation that currently assists over 90 rescue groups throughout Australia. We are not a rescue group, rather a network group that supports rescue groups. Our rescue group member numbers are growing every month. Fostering gives rescue groups more space and time to save lives so is a vital link in the rescue chain. How it works: 1. Email [email protected] for an appliction form or comment below 2. On return of your application form your details will be entered into our NARGA National Foster Database. 3. A NARGA foster carer profile is then created from the information you supply in your application form. 4. Our database will match your suburb and post code to rescue group members in your area. 5. We will then notify these rescue groups and let them know you are available to foster. 6. We will not give out your contact details until a group replies. 7. We will supply you a list of rescue groups to contact. 8. You will need to complete an application form with the rescue group and a home check will be required to ensure your home is suitable and safe for the pet. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. No need to do the dusting, it really is just to look for possible hazards that may harm the pet. 9. You will be invited to our NARGA National Foster Database Facebook page to share your experiences as a foster carer with all our volunteers. Please note fostering is only temporary as the pet will be placed up for adoption but you can apply to adopt it. The pet in the picture is not available to foster.
