Can you plz share this as #cathaypacific doesnt think its important to reply back to the complaints logged in by their customers. Dear Cathay Pacific, I have tried contacting you on several mediums (emails / message on fb / post on your wall) yet I havent received any feedback from you. I am a frequent flyer with Cathay Pacific and my membership number is 1151262824. I had like to bring to your notice my recent series of bad experience with Cathay and lack of attentiveness and politeness from Cathay staff. My ticket confirmation number is : 1607417412300 and 1607417412301. On 13th June, 2014 I flew Cathay Business from SF To Delhi with layover in Hong Kong. Post landing, I noticed one of my checked in bags to be missing, I intimated the Cathay attendant named Mr Inzimam Ul Haq; who was on duty around the luggage belt. For good half an hour he chose to not respond or take any action despite insistence from my side. Finally after half an hour /40 minutes he took fancy in my request and checked in for me to report that my luggage is missing. When I inquired him to trace it for me over the web, he simply informed that it cant be done, while that is how everyone traces missing bags internationally. Then I enquired him the procedure to report the missing bag and the attitude from this gentleman was very callous. I literally had to step up and request the assistance from the airport staff, because I didnt foresee any help from Cathays staff. Finally a gentleman named Mr Ashish Ghildyal, took note of my missing luggage and made a report for the same. There was another co-passenger who shared the same flight who had his bag missing. Both of us had to wait for additional hours time to just file the report, yet with no proper attention from Cathays staff. When I enquired these staff members on duty regarding the compensation or anything similar that Cathay grants in case of missing baggage, then answer that I received literally APPALED me because it sounded very racist in terms of policies that Cathay follows. Let me quote what I was told Indians are not entitled to any compensation. When I interrogated further on this, I was told that when they say Indians, it means Indian nationals. Are you trying to state that regardless of inconvinience caused to an Indian national by your carrier, Cathay believes they can simply get away with it by stating it as some policy? I need to have an answer for such RACIST policy. I was in India for business and had an event next noon and I didnt have my clothes nor the time to shop anything for myself. This wasnt understood as any inconvenience by your staff. When i pointed out lack of attention of Mr Ul Haq to Mr Ashish, then Mr Ul Haq very openly decided to argue with me and literally asked if I am sure that he didnt pay attention. Even when I asked for their names with complete details, there was evident hesitation to share the same. As an Indian national I feel very offended for the mistreatment caused to me on the basis of such policies which are clearly very racist. As a regular flyer I feel cheated for the amount I paid for the services. As a business class traveller I wonder how badly do you treat Economy class people if I was mistreated like this. Unfortunately my misery didnt end just here. on 29th June I flew Business class from Shanghai to SF, with layover in Hong Kong. During my second leg, I was seated and just when the plane was taking off and the seat belts sign were on, water started dripping from the ceiling. It practically made it impossible for me to stay calm and seated. I had water all over on the book i was reading, on my clothes and my cell phone. I immediately requested for cabin service, but since plane was still taking off I couldnt get anybody to attend to me. However later when the attendant came in they were too casual about the incident and told me not worry as this is very normal. I have never experienced this before and I am a regular flyer for several carriers. I again had to demand changing my seat, because the water kept on dripping, while the attendant was trying to tell me that this will happen only for a while and till then I should be calm about it. I fail to understand if there is technical fault in the plane, why doesnt Cathay take care of it? On coming back home I also noticed that one of my bags (Samsonite hard case) was damaged and slightly cracked around the wheel area. I havent reported this yet as I any ways dont have faith in your policies and dont want to hear some racist remark yet again. Such frequent lack of service incidents makes me decide not to use Cathay again. I demand for an explanation and apology from Cathay for this racism and mis-treatment. I will also like to tell you that for the good of my friends and family, I will recommend them not to use Cathay. Very unhappy and dis-satisfied, Parul Vij Chopra
