Can you remember Fern? She was one of our first rescues... Fern came into our care at around 9 months old. She was found straying and was a bit of a handful. She had a huge belly and we were told that the pound thought that she might be in pup. Fortunately the belly was just full of worms. Fern went into foster with Lou who certainly had her hands full. If i remember rightly she attempted to eat the builders a few times. Fern attracted a lot of interest because of her looks, however understandably her interesting behaviour put everyone off.... that was until Trisha and her husband came along, the perfect sighthound experienced home that was willing to take on a dog with problems. Fern was adopted and off she went to turn their lives upside down. We arranged for Trisha and Fern to work with a local behaviourist who helped with many of Ferns issues, and Trisha and her husband have carried on with the excellent training and work so hard with Fern on a daily baos. However Fern will always be Fern and still keeps everyone on their toes. Whatever happened to Fern before she came into rescue sadly has caused life long behaviour problems that cannot be cured but can be managed.
