Can you stand to be corrected? Many people today do not like when people correct them in their ways. Some find it hard to listen to correction. And some even will reject those who correct them. As a child my parents corrected me so that I would not fall into trouble and to teach me how to be subject to those who are in authority. Correction is not pleasing, nor may it be easy but it is needful. No matter how old we get all of us stand in need to be corrected. In my generation if you ever done anything wrong you was not only corrected by your parents, you had to deal with the family, the aunts uncles, and then you had to deal with the neighbors and the church. You learn what it meant to respect and reverence those who were elders. Today generation feels they have it all in control they need no man to tell them anything and dont deal well with correction. They feel correction is a way to dis them and to get all up in their business. When I came up I had no business and my business was the business of all those around me. Even in school correction followed down the lines of the teacher to the principal to my parents and church for those who were teachers was also those who belong to the church. So no matter what you may have been trying to hide was known to all. I am 57 years old and I still yet can stand to be corrected. I feel that God can use anyone and anybody to correct his people. Even those who are unsaved. Even a child can lead them. I believe God can use a child if he must to get our attention. I thank God for how my parents raised me to respect and to listen and to have a teachable spirit and allow myself to be corrected Correction can be received or rejected and I choose to receive and my reason are this whom the Lord Loves he corrects. God loves me enough to correct me I should love him enough to receive that correction. It may not feel good and my flesh may not find it pleasing but God knows it is needful so that I may become a better child. My spiritual dad corrected me I was not a happy camper but I swallowed my pride and said yes dad you are correct. Had I not accepted his correction I would have missed out on the liberty and freedom to knowing and understanding what it meant to have a true and loving relationship with the person who loves me. I had to sit down and ask myself if I rejected correction what would it cost me. Some times and I believe many times when we refuse to accept correction we have cut out lives short of the divine will and purpose that God has for our very life. Husband accept that wife correcting you. Wives accept that husband who has corrected you. Children your parents are correcting you for your purpose in life. Pastors are correcting you for your destiny. Apostle are correcting you for your greatness. Teacher have corrected you for your future. Read Hebrews 12 and let it speak to you. It spoke to me and I say again I can stand to be corrected for in my correction lays a greater blessing then the temporary displeasure to my flesh.
