CanWest Affiliates are excited to announce that we are slowly going to implement a mobility/stability program for our athletes! We are fortunate enough to have two CanWest athletes, Paul Tylla and Adam Cowan that are highly qualified and experienced in the area of mobility. For example, Paul has over 300hrs of mobility/yoga training and 2000 practice hours. He also has a competitive background as a semi pro triathlete and has over two years of CrossFit experience. Needless to say mobility has definitely helped his athletic performance over the years. The main goal for Adam, Paul and our gym as a whole, is to help everyone move more effectively through mobility exercises to help optimize their athletic performance. To get the ball rolling Adam Cowan is starting a mobility seminar! Mobility & Stability Seminar by Adam Cowan: Who is Adam? Adam, also known as “The guy with perfect form,” is a CrossFit Maple Ridge Athlete and has been for the past 2.5 years. He recently received his Level 1 CrossFit Certificate and has been apprenticing at CrossFit Maple Ridge. Adam is a huge asset to our team as he is extremely knowledgeable in human kinetics. In short, Adam makes his living by assessing individuals and their poor body mechanics and fixes them! Adams qualifications: • Practising Kinesiologist insured through the British Columbia • Association of Kinesiologists. • Employed in an exercise rehab clinic working to get all populations moving more and moving well. • Previously worked as an athletic trainer for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Details about this seminar: • Saturdays @ 1130-1215 hrs December 6th, 13th and 20th • Location: CrossFit Maple Ridge • These classes will cover how the mobility & stability paradigm fits into CrossFit performance and everyday life. • The seminar will cover different techniques and strategies for mobility to optimize your CrossFit performance and movement patterns. • A lot of focus will be on the difficult positions during lifts so you can turn into an efficient full range of motion machine. • One of the goals is to educate everyone who attends so they can start incorporating more mobility into their pre warm up routines. As many of you know, Adam has been taping a lot of our athletes (at competitions or for regular WODS). The fee for the 3 day seminar is $15 and all proceeds are going towards his rock tape! All CanWest athletes are encouraged to come. If you cant make all three dates thats fine. Pls RSVP below so we have an idea for numbers! We hope to have an ongoing/developing program implemented in the near future! Happy mobilizing!
