Canada: Ontario: Kenora District: Hwy17 Eagle Lake rest area,3.73km E Vermilion Bay / 49.85032N 93.35648W / 24 Oct 2014 / Frederick W. Schueler, Aleta Karstad Schueler HABITAT:lawnpark campground btwn hwy & railway above lake. Here we are, parked for the night between the truck-driven hwy and the long-train railway, with the gas pipeline hissing just to the north - the very wasp-waist of Canadian commerce. If there were militaristic anti-Canada terrorists, their inevitable plan of disruption would be to plant explosives here under CNR & CPR tracks, and the Transcanada Highway & gas line, and have the whole country severed with one blast of a couple of tonnes of TNT. Since no such activity is observed, one is led to the conclusion that the recent terrorists are, as they seem to be, Lost Boys who dont think about their activities, and dont plan for them to have any particular effect (real terrorists would employ no tool other than buckets of Zebra Mussels, of course, but observed terroroids are too urban and explosive-motivated to think of how they might achieve really terrifying goals). The Prime Minister, classifying the recent Lost Boys as despicable and somehow involved in international plots, is a Lost Boy as well, sucked into a religious sect that taught him that the consensus interpretation of Christianity is all wrong. This means that for him any system that depends on evaluating situations on the basis of common agreement - notably science or democracy - is also all wrong. The very fact of co-operation in coming to understand things is evidence of the wrongness of the conclusions, since idiosyncracy is the only source of Truth. Its no accident that his professed subject of study is conventional neo-liberal economics, which relies on grossly simplified models of motivation, touts wrong-doing as a means to good ends, employs only unrealistic subsets of data, cant model equilibrium, and fails to predict the major catastrophic events in its field of study. For Mr Harper, everything important is an externality, which can be disregarded. For him, Canada itself is an externality, which, if it doesnt increase the grossness of the domestic product, isnt of interest.
