Canada’s cell phone giants have just quietly put forward a motion in Federal Court to overturn parts of our new cell phone Code of Conduct – that was put in place just weeks ago to protect us against price-gouging. In June Canadians won a new Code of Conduct that ends restrictive three-year contracts, caps data roaming fees, and makes it easier to switch to a new provider. The Big Three don’t want to play by the new rules. Instead, they want to continue price-gouging Canadians until nearly 2017! And now they’re taking the whole country to court to try to get their way. The court documents specifically mention “members of the public”. It’s you. It’s all Canadians that are now being attacked using a federal court. Now, stand with OpenMedia.ca by contributing what you can today. With your help, we can build on our winning track record, galvanize nationwide opposition, and put a stop to this out-of-control greed.
