Canal towpaths are one place that the MP crew usually avoid like the plague. Too many hazards like joggers, cyclists, bridges that lead up to main roads, fishermen, other dog walkers with no space to pass, canal boats to jump on and, the obvious one, the canal itself!! However...as Anne and I paired up today (for Annes meet and greet with Mitzy) we gave it a go at Waverton canal. We met no joggers or cyclists, other dog walkers were elsewhere, passed only one bridge that went to a golf course, saw only one boat that was securely dog proofed...but...oh dear...my sincere apologies go out to the nice fisherman...happily daydreaming under his umbrella...and rudely awakened by four excited, nosey, waggy tailed, licky mutts!!! Mitzy actually happily sat herself on his knee while Sahara, Billy and Phoebe investigated his fishing stuff!! Luckily he laughed and smiled whilst we hastily dragged the fearsome four off down the path!! Canal towpaths are now firmly OFF our exploring list...although they did have lots of fun!! Dicksons Drive field and Caldy Valley were the other safe venues today...no fishermen there...phew!!! :-D
