Cannabis oil & breast cancer THE RESEARCH FROM FUKUOKA JAPAN Researchers have discovered that cannabidiol (CBD) found in the cannabis plant has the ability to ‘switch off’ the gene responsible for metastasis in an aggressive form of breast cancer called triple negative. This form, which affects 15% of patients, doesnt have three hormone receptors that the most successful therapies target. Cells from this cancer have high levels of ID-1. When scientists exposed cells from this cancer to cannabidiol they were shocked to find the cells returned to a healthy normal state. They discovered that the compound had turned off the over-expression of ID-1, stopping them from travelling to distant tissues. Other potentially treatable cancers that respond well to cannabis oil extract are forms of leukaemia, lung, ovarian and brain cancers, which also have high levels of ID-1. Research into other forms of cancer indicate similar results. Worldwide, breast cancer comprises 10.4% of all cancer incidence among women, making it the second most common type of non-skin cancer (after lung cancer) and the fifth most common cause of cancer death. In 2004, breast cancer caused 519,000 deaths worldwide (7% of cancer deaths; almost 1% of all deaths). Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) is an inhibitor of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell migration (stops them spreading) and cannabidiol (CBD), is a major non-psychotropic constituent of cannabis, that has been reported to possess anti-proliferative effect (stops growth or their ability to multiply ) on cancer cells. Results of the current investigation revealed that CBDA inhibits migration of the highly invasive MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells (through a mechanism involving inhibition of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A, coupled with an activation of the small GTPase). Before considering drastic surgery or aggressive chemotherapy it is worth noting that a new scientific study has confirmed that: most women diagnosed with breast cancer via mammography never had a cancer problem to begin with and 93% of early detection has no benefit to the patient whatsoever, according to a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Study co-author Dr. Gilbert Welch states, We found that the introduction of screening has been associated with about 1.5 million additional women receiving a diagnosis of early stage breast cancer. Dr. Welchs team discovered, there was virtually no reduction in late-stage breast cancer from these early diagnosis, meaning that many women who were told they had breast cancer after a mammogram were being mislead. Most women diagnosed agree to start treatment immediately, this consists of injections of expensive and highly toxic chemicals which oncologist sell to the very same patients they have falsely diagnosed, furthermore, The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recently advised that most women dont need mammograms as early or often as previously believed. Scientist Pierre Despre reports, “We started by researching breast cancer, but now weve found that cannabidiol works with many kinds of aggressive cancers – brain, prostate – any kind in which these high levels of ID-1 are present. There is also a significant role for THC in the treatment of cancer and results show that the most effective cannabis oils are what is known as 1:1 grade, that means equal amounts of both CBD and THC. There are few strains of cannabis that will produce this profile as most plants developed for the recreational market today have been bred to contain significant amounts of THC and reduced CBD.
