Cannot remember a more magical evening than tonights Donor Dinner and Auction celebrating Dixon Place and Ellie Covan, with tributes to Peggy Shaw, Eric Jensen, and Yoshiko Kasuga. Ellie, with her amazing venue, in various locations since 1986, has provided a haven and an incubator for performance artists as she continued to nurture and support their work with non stop dedication. In doing so she has also created an incredibly loving community that was in abundance tonight. So although this evening was a salute to others it was very much about our wonderful strong and courageous pal Ellie, and the love was overflowing. Some who could make it tonight were Lois Weaver, Kate Conroy, Marty Correia, Susana Cook, Sofía Oi C, Michael Burke, Nicky Paraiso, Reno, Alice OMalley, Catherine Porter, Barry Rowell, Cynthia Carr, Emily K Morgan, Patricia Flanagan, Sarah East Johnson, Terry Dame, Nancy Giles, Tim Ranney, Joseph Keckler, Jim R. Moore, Carmelita Tropicana, Barbara and Larry Holt, and Dixon Place brilliant staff members Katy Einerson, Benjamin Soencksen and Rob Lariviere. Brava! and Cheers all around!
